Austin Seybert

Austin Seybert is a trombonist, educator, and composer born and raised in Bridgeport, West Virginia. After completing his Bachelors degree in Music Education and Jazz Studies at Marshall University, Austin moved to Champaign, Illinois where he completed his Masters degree in Jazz Performance with Jim Pugh while serving as his Jazz Teaching Assistant, as well as being a member of the award winning UIUC Jazz Trombone Ensemble. Austin was named a National Finalist for the American Trombone Workshop Solo Jazz Trombone Competition and won a DownBeat Student Award for his arrangement of John Coltrane’s “Giant Steps.” Having recently left a faculty position at Bradley University, in 2018, Austin joins the faculty at the University of Dubuque.
